Elkhan Nuriyev
Biography
Elkhan Nuriyev is a longtime specialist on regional security issues in Eurasia. In 2015, he was a Humboldt Senior Fellow at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs in Berlin. In 2014, he was a DAAD Senior Policy Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations in Berlin. Since 2014 he has been a global energy associate at the Brussels Energy Club. From 2008 to 2011, he served as founding director of the Center for Strategic Studies, Azerbaijan’s premier think tank headquartered in Baku. Between 1998 and 2008 he worked as a senior research associate at a number of U.S. and European research institutions, including the Monterey Institute of International Studies, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the Peace Research Institute in Frankfurt and the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies. During 1996-1997, he was a Fulbright Research Fellow at the George Washington University.
